Pinot Nero

Enfant terrible and king of wines

Description

The variety Pinot Noir rightfully acquires the title of the “enfant terrible” due to the extreme care it requests both in the vineyard and the cellar. The thin-skinned berries growing on very tightly set grape bunches make these very susceptive to many diseases and sensitive to weather conditions. When the vineyard work has been brought to success and the grapes made it into the cellar mature and healthy, when the childhood period has been ridden out, the however not less important period of education of the temperamental and sensitive adolescent can begin. Only by implementation of non-invasive and gentle educative methods based on precise sensory analysis allow you to transform young Pinot into a wine worthy of the title “king of wines”

The expression of our Pinot Noir is defined by its varietal bouquet of dark berries and mature black cherries. Due to the influence of our highly mineralic volcanic soils the classic scents of wet forest floor is especially pronounced and are underlaid by the slightly smoky component deriving from its 12-month maturation period in french oak barrels.

The complex but yet delicately nuanced structure, the silky tannins and the ripe fruit, reflecting what its scent promised, make this wine a long lingering great pleasure to drink.
